Hringurinn is an Icelandic charity organization founded by a group of women in 1904. Initially, their goal was to raise money to help people suffering from tuberculosis. In recent decades, however, Hringurinn's primary focus has been on work for humanitarian issues, especially for the benefit of children.
Through various forms of fundraising, Hringurinn strives to make sure the children in need of medical services, whether it‘s at the Children‘s Hospital, the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Department, homes for children with disabilities, or the NICU, which Hringurinn has supported significantly throughout the years, have access to all necessary medical equipment.

about

This album features a number of traditional Icelandic folk songs, hymns, and lullabies arranged for piano.

My intention is that these arrangements both serve their practical purpose of being soothing, simple, and repetitive sleeping aids; while also providing me with the opportunity to bring my own personal little twists and ideas into songs that many, if not all Icelanders would be familiar with.
